The webXR.tools VTO Studio uses 3D models that are created using 3D tools such as Blender, C4D, Maya, 3DS Max, Unity, Unreal or any other 3D render software that can output glTF or glb file types.

3D File Formats

VTO Studio supports the following 3D file formats:

  • .glTF (standalone or zip)
  • .glb
  • .USDZ
  • .reality

File Types and Size

VTO Studio supports images in the following file formats:

  • Loader Asset Formats: Lottie JSON, SVG, JPG, JPEG, PNG
  • UI Elements – Image Formats: SVG, JPG, JPEG, PNG
  • Video Formats: MP4
  • Max File Size: 20mb / file

Recommendations for optimal performance

  • The maximum number of vertices per object should be below 20,000.
  • The total triangle count per object in an effect should be below 50,000.
  • Keep the total triangle count for all objects in an effect below 150,000.
  • The height should be between 1 centimeter (min) and 5 metres (max).

Limitations and known issues

  • KHR_texture_transform in glTF files aren’t supported by USDZ converter.
    —  Manual conversion required.
  • Geometry compression (Draco) in glTF is not supported by USDZ converter.
